The challenge. Health & Hospital Corporation needed a modern public-safety facility, but starting from scratch wasn't the goal — an existing masonry building had good bones worth preserving. The project called for a full interior renovation paired with a new addition to house offices and an ambulance bay for EMS, all built to current standards.
What we did. R. Chavez Construction delivered the project as general contractor. We preserved the existing block walls while rebuilding the interior and roof to current standards, and constructed a new CMU addition housing offices and the ambulance bay. Coordinating renovation and new construction in one project takes careful sequencing — which we managed from preconstruction through closeout.
The result. A modern, durable public-safety facility that honors the original structure while giving EMS and staff the space they need.
