R. Chavez Construction was founded in 2012 by Roberto Chavez — a construction professional with more than 25 years of industry experience and a straightforward belief that great projects start with great people. What began as a concrete specialty operation has grown into a full-service commercial general contracting company with a team of experienced project managers, superintendents, and field leaders across every level of the organization.

We are a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) with the State of Indiana and the City of Indianapolis. That certification is more than a credential — it's a procurement advantage for public school districts, municipalities, and state agencies that carry MBE participation requirements. When R. Chavez is your prime contractor, your diversity spend goals are met at the contract level, not buried in a subcontractor tier.

Today, we serve K–12 school districts, higher education institutions, municipal agencies, non-profits, and commercial clients across Indiana. Every project gets the same standard: responsive communication, disciplined cost control, and accountability from start to finish.

Where We're Headed We are not a company coasting on past work. R. Chavez Construction is on a deliberate growth trajectory — expanding our project management team, building deeper relationships with school districts and design firms across Indiana, and developing the systems and capacity required to compete at a significantly higher level. The goal is simple: to be the institutional and commercial GC that Indiana owners and architects call first.

Roberto Chavez is the owner and founder of R. Chavez Construction, a company he established in 2012 built on the values of hard work, integrity, and commitment to people. With more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry, he has built a reputation for quality workmanship, reliability, and strong client relationships.

Roberto believes successful projects are driven by teamwork, accountability, and treating every job with the same care as if it were his own. As a leader, he is committed to fostering a positive work environment where respect, dedication, and pride in craftsmanship guide the company's work.

Outside of his professional life, Roberto is a proud father of four, and his family remains his greatest motivation.

Patrick McMahon, Vice President

Patrick McMahon

Vice President / COO

Patrick was born and raised on the south side of Indianapolis and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as a Security Forces member from 2004 to 2010, including three deployments to Iraq. After returning to Indiana, he began his construction career as a laborer and quickly advanced through roles including foreman, superintendent, estimator, and personnel manager.

While working full-time, Patrick earned a degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Indianapolis. From 2013 to 2024, he served as a Project Manager in the multifamily construction sector, leading projects across Indiana, Cincinnati, and Colorado. In 2024, he joined R. Chavez Construction, bringing more than a decade of experience in field operations and project management.

Patrick and his wife, Michelle, have been married since 2006 and have two daughters. As a family, they enjoy camping, boating, fishing, gardening, concerts, and spending time with friends.

Natalie Sanchez, Project Manager

Project Manager

Natalie is a construction professional with more than a decade of experience in commercial and multi-family projects. A graduate of Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, she combines technical expertise with strong leadership and attention to detail to guide projects from planning to completion. She joined R. Chavez Construction in 2026, bringing her commitment to quality, collaboration, and delivering successful outcomes.

Raised near Muncie, Indiana, Natalie is passionate about giving back to her community. She serves on the Ball State Construction Management Advisory Board and the Delta Girls Softball board, where she also coaches and mentors young athletes.

Natalie and her husband, John, married in 2011 and are raising their two children in the community they proudly call home. She is also an active member of Union Chapel and is committed to supporting youth programs and strengthening local connections.

Grant Linson, Project Manager

Project Manager

Grant is a Project Manager at R. Chavez Construction with more than a decade of experience in commercial construction. A graduate of Purdue University with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, he has worked on projects across multiple sectors including healthcare, education, retail, utilities, and government.

Since beginning his career in 2012, Grant has developed a strong foundation in field operations, technical problem-solving, and team collaboration. Since joining R. Chavez Construction in 2023, he has continued to apply his expertise to successfully deliver projects on time and within budget.

Grant lives in Franklin Township on the southeast side of Indianapolis with his wife, Krista, and their three children. Outside of work, he enjoys youth sports, hiking, biking, skiing, and traveling with his family.

Brian Chavez, Lead Estimator & Concrete Division Manager

Lead Estimator & Concrete Division Manager

Brian Chavez grew up in Indianapolis after relocating from Phoenix, Arizona at a young age. A former multi-sport athlete, he developed a strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset that continues to guide his career.

Brian joined Chavez Construction at 19 as a laborer, gaining hands-on experience before advancing into leadership roles. In 2020, he became a Superintendent and an early member of R. Chavez Construction's General Contracting division. Through continued education in estimating, scheduling, and construction project management, Brian expanded his expertise and, in 2025, was named Lead Estimator and Concrete Division Manager.

Outside of work, Brian enjoys spending time with family, working with quarter horses, and attending collegiate and professional sporting events.

Ryleigh Fisher, Director of Administration

Director of Administration

Ryleigh joined R. Chavez Construction in 2025, where she supports daily operations with strong organization, professionalism, and attention to detail. She earned a degree in Business Management from The Ohio State University and began her career in the construction equipment rental industry, gaining experience in outside and internal sales while helping open new store locations across the Midwest.

Originally from Delaware, Ohio, Ryleigh later relocated to Indiana to pursue her passion for racehorses, working as a veterinary technician before returning to the construction industry. She remains active in the quarter horse racing and rodeo community as a barrel racer.

Ryleigh is often accompanied by her dog, Noche, who has become a favorite morale booster around the office.

Edgard Chavez, Project Engineer

Project Engineer

Edgard Chavez is a Project Engineer at R. Chavez Construction, where he oversees field operations, manages crews, and ensures projects are completed safely and efficiently. He began his career with the company in 2014 as a laborer, developing hands-on expertise in concrete work, estimating, bid preparation, and project management.

A first-generation American raised in Indianapolis, Edgard built a strong foundation in leadership and problem-solving early in life. In 2023, he enlisted in the United States Army Reserve as an Intelligence Analyst and currently holds the rank of Specialist, balancing military service with his civilian leadership role.

Outside of work, Edgard enjoys reading, automotive projects, playing guitar, and following soccer. Above all, he is a dedicated father who values discipline, growth, and legacy.

Tommy Thomas, Superintendent

Superintendent

Tommy Thomas serves as a Superintendent at R. Chavez Construction, bringing eight years of construction management experience and a strong background in field operations and project leadership. He has successfully delivered multiple multi-family projects throughout the Indianapolis area, maintaining a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.

Originally from Cleveland, Texas, and raised in both Texas and Zionsville, Indiana, Tommy is a graduate of Zionsville High School and holds an OSHA-30 certification. Known for his problem-solving skills and collaborative leadership style, he works closely with project teams and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed successfully.

Outside of work, Tommy enjoys spending time with his wife and their daughter, Harper, as well as hunting, fishing, and hands-on projects.

Ralph Hill, Superintendent

Ralph Hill

Superintendent

With over 40 years of experience in the trades, Ralph Hill brings deep industry knowledge, hands-on expertise, and proven leadership to construction projects of all sizes. Beginning his career framing homes in 1983, Ralph quickly built a diverse skill set that spans residential construction, mechanical work, cabinetry, and project supervision.

Throughout his career, Ralph has worked with respected companies such as Summit Construction, Superior Contractors, and Astropak Corporation, where he traveled nationwide supporting complex projects. In addition, he successfully owned and operated a mechanic shop for 14 years and later founded Ralph Hill Construction.

Known for his strong work ethic, practical problem-solving, and commitment to quality craftsmanship, Ralph delivers dependable results and experienced leadership on every job. Ralph also volunteers a great deal of his time at the local American Legion.

Taylor Thomas, Assistant Superintendent

Assistant Superintendent

Taylor Thomas grew up in Willis, Texas, and in 2022 earned his degree in Construction Management with a minor in Construction Safety from Sam Houston State University. He gained hands-on experience throughout college as a laborer and equipment operator, eventually advancing into Assistant Estimator and Assistant Foreman roles. With eight years of field experience, he brings strong practical knowledge and a solid understanding of construction operations.

In early 2026, he joined R. Chavez Construction as an Onsite Project Engineer and Assistant Superintendent, contributing both field expertise and technical skill to support successful project delivery.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his fiancée and their pets — two dogs, Dakoda and Spencer, and their cat, Denver — along with hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping.
